Public School District – San Luis Obispo , California

Founded in 1895, the San Luis Coastal Unified School District has two four-year high schools: Morro Bay (MBHS) and San Luis Obispo (SLO) High Schools. Located in the coastal foothills of central California, the district is one of the highest-achieving public school systems in the state. San Luis Coastal guarantees students will receive the highest quality programs to become self-sufficient after high school.

Facilities
Each campus is about 30 acres with amenities including swimming pools at each high school, performing arts spaces, new classrooms, tennis courts, and new tracks with more improvements starting in the summer of 2016.

Sports and Arts
The District believes that each participant benefits from participating in athletics, and students are encouraged to become involved with sports such as cross county and football. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of the arts program through courses or extracurricular activities.

Awards and Accomplishments
Morro Bay High was ranked as one of the best high schools in Newsweek Magazine’s “America’s Best High Schools”, named a National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education and it is also accredited as a California Distinguished School. San Luis Obispo High School ranks among the top academic high schools in California with its graduates going on to study at the country’s best universities.
