Colorado Springs School

Private Day School – Colorado Springs , Colorado

Learning is grounded in experience. By delivering challenging academic material through traditional and experiential settings, CSS offers students opportunities to learn information more thoroughly, to retain it longer, and to apply it to new settings. This deliberate approach to teaching also offers students opportunities to learn more about themselves, others, and the world. Building on strong, supportive relationships afforded by small classes and a safe environment, ensures each student’s personal and academic growth. In the Upper School, the Experience-Centered Seminars are a key academic and personal growth experience with in depth study of topics both in the US and overseas.

Students are also encouraged to participate in after school activities. CSS athletics teams compete against other teams in the Pikes Peak region in soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, tennis, lacrosse, and golf. For those with other interests, three plays/musicals are performed each year in the on-campus Performing Arts Center.

Community Information
Colorado Springs is the second largest city in the state of Colorado and nominated 4th "fittest city in the US. Besides being a world-renowned destination for year-round outdoor activities such as running, cycling and winter sports, Colorado Springs also possesses a dynamic cultural scene and many historic sites. The city was first established as an upscale resort community, though the older mining supply center of Colorado City (now Old Colorado City) was merged later, and the tourist industry has remained strong and offers many activities and attractions.

The city is located about one hour and 30 minutes south of Denver. Colorado Springs has many features of a modern urban area.
