South Kent School

Private Boarding School – Kent , Connecticut

South Kent School is a boarding school for boys only, in grades 9-12 and postgraduate, located in the heart of the Litchfield Hills in northwestern Connecticut. It attracts students who are motivated and who demonstrate a potential for success. Rigorous academics are balanced by athletics, a strong arts program, extracurricular activities, and community service. Established in 1923, the campus is a quintessential New England setting, with wooden and stone buildings set amongst rolling hills, trees and ponds. An enrollment of 190 students and a teaching staff of 35 translate into small classes and individualized attention for students. The average class has ten students, enabling all students to receive the individual attention so critical during secondary educational development.

FACILITIES
The campus has a main building, library, science building, academic resource center, art studio, theatre, dining hall, student store, student center, and an infirmary. Their sports facilities include an indoor gym, indoor ice hockey rink, two soccer fields, football field, lacrosse field, baseball field, weight room and a rowing center.

DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
The South Kent School includes eight dormitories, mostly double occupancy though there are a limited number of single rooms and quads (4 students in a room). All dorms
have complete wireless access to the school server including internet. There are common rooms in all dorms with kitchenettes, TV and social spaces. There are no telephones
in student rooms but students are permitted to have cellular phones.
