Gould Academy is a traditional co-ed New England College Prep School for motivated and talented students. Its science program is outstanding and offers unique courses such as environmental science, aeronautics, and sports medicine in addition to core scientific classes. The physics classes are taught by their teacher who originally worked for NASA. Each year, all students participate in the Four Point program giving students an immersive learning experience in a range of themes – developing leadership and confidence. College counseling begins from the 9th grade to prepare students for university acceptance. Gould specializes in providing students with rigorous academic preparation paired with hands on experience.
Located on a beautiful tree-lined campus in Bethel, Maine, this private boarding high school provides superb facilities for students. The facilities include tennis courts, a playground, an auditorium, a race track, and more.
Sports and Arts
Gould Academy’s signature programs include a partnership with the Manhattan School of Music to provide advanced private music lessons for students in virtually any discipline, an IDEAS lab where students design and build projects, and a competitive snow sports program (including Nordic Ski, Alpine Ski, Snowboarding and more).
Dormitories and School Life
Gould has three single-sex dormitories. The dormitories consist of singles, doubles, triples and quad style living. There are house faculty and dorm parents on every floor in each dormitory. Each floor is also lead by 2-3 upper class student proctors so security, supervision, and support can be found at all hours of the day (and night). Students have access to common areas, kitchens, and lounges.
