Maine School of Science and Math

Private Boarding School – Limestone , Maine

Possibly the most selective high school in the state of Maine, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM) offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum focused primarily on mathematics, the sciences and engineering. They also offer courses, many of them AP, in the humanities and social science, such as English Language and Literature, Economics and Government. MSSM is unique in that it offers high level math and science courses for those still in high school. Thus, it is not surprising that many of these students matriculate to top engineering schools, like Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Georgia Institute of Technology. Still, others may study at elite liberal arts colleges like Wesleyan and Pomona. Furthermore, students may qualify for the University of Maine Presque Isle’s Early Admission program which permits a dual enrollment opportunity. For the F-1 visa, this means you may enroll at MSSM for 3 years, graduating with an MSSM diploma as well as receiving an Associate Degree from UMPI.

MSSM only recruits among the top 3% of students in from the state with 100% of their students accepted to high level 4 year colleges.
