Washington Academy offers a top tier private education located in a quaint ocean-side town. With 14 Advanced Placement courses, the newly created University Institute,a well-established arts program, active athletics community and wide range of extracurricular activities, students are sure to be engaged in all activities they choose.
There are nine main buildings, including the main teaching building, gymnasium, and large music hall. Across the street of the main building is the first academy building which was built in 1823. Today, it is used for the health center and classrooms.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Washington Academy offers Varsity, Jr. Varsity, and recreational athletics, with many teams winning State championships. The arts program includes; music competitions, AP Studio Art, the Cultural Dance program with three performances per year, and theater with two productions per year.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
The three dormitories at Washington Academy have wireless internet, TV and phone service. They each have a kitchen, a recreation room, laundry facilities and are staffed 24
hours a day. Most rooms are double occupancy.
The small town of East Machias is located about four hours north of Portland.
Admission is rolling and the school accepts applications all year round until placement requirements have been met.

Early University- Earn university/college credits by taking full college courses at WA and at the local university located just 2 miles from WA.
