Cathedral High School and Holyoke Catholic High School recently merged to form the new school, Pope Francis High School. Currently they reside in Chicopee, MA, but will be moving to an entirely new campus due to open in 2019. Pope Francis High School’s academically distinguished program of study challenges and motivates students to reach their full potential. Faculty members are committed to each student’s academic, emotional, and spiritual growth; they are devoted to developing future leaders who will embrace responsible citizenship in the global community. With individual attention and the newly established rigor of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, Pope Francis High School offers students five different academic programs that can be blended to meet the individual needs of each student.
The plans for the new campus will include a chapel, the necessary academic classrooms, media/resource rooms, specialized classrooms for science, the arts, and engineering, an auditorium, and a gymnasium. The plan also includes athletic facilities including a multipurpose field with press box and seating, a baseball and a softball field, and five tennis courts.
