History
Educatius International was founded in 2001 by Mr. Tom Ericsson focusing on recruitment of international students to US private boarding schools. The first office was situated outside Gothenburg, Sweden. Since inception, more offices have been added as the number of students has increased. All programs in the US are administered and run through the two Educatius offices in Lavaca, Arkansas and Newcastle outside Seattle, Washington.
New partner schools and programs as well as program countries are continuously being added to the portfolio. The first program to be added after the boarding school program was a Private Day School Program with paid host family accommodation. This program was offered through a limited number of private schools and was well received by our International Partners and students.
In 2007 Educatius launched a new program that was almost unique to the USA. The F-1 Public High School Program, now Big City High School Program, was added to the portfolio. The program is offered in public high schools with placements in paid host families and attended by students on F-1 visas. The F-1 visa combined with the fact that both schools and families are paid enabled Educatius to offer a public program where students can choose between exciting locations such as LA, Boston, Chicago and the Bay Area.
Towards the end of 2008 Educatius launched three new programs. Or two and a half to be exact. The private Day Schools that had previously been offered alongside the Private Boarding Schools were added to a list of brand new partner private day schools. The increase in number of schools, from 4 to 14, together with the fact that Educatius staff now started handling the host family placements for these schools as well motivated a launch of the Private Day School Program as a new addition to Educatius.
Alongside the Private Day School Program Educatius also launched a Coomunity College Program in the USA. Here students are placed in Community Colleges and paid host families offering the students the possibility to do the first two years of study towards a Bachelors Degree while experiencing the support and cultural experience of staying with an American host family.
The third new program launched was a celebration of the Scandinavian origin of Educatius. Through the Explorius Education sister company we launched the High School Exchange Nordic Program offering students placements in public high schools and volunteer host families in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Today Educatius International enjoys strong relationships with International Partners in all continents of the world. Our mix of well established and recently launched academic programs creates a creative mix of contacts and events. We continue to work hard to offer all our partners and students high quality placements in schools and host families working together towards our common goal of opening the doors of education to young people from all over the world.
