One of the best urban school systems in the country, the Denver Public Schools is a leader in student achievement and university and career preparation. Special programs offered to domestic and international students include the prestigious International Baccalaureate at George Washington High, STEM at East High, English as a Second Language and more offered at each school.

Sports and Arts
The district has an impressive athletic record; the graduating class of 2016 had 18 student-athletes receiving athletic scholarships, five girls and 13 boys, eight continued on to compete at the NCAA Division I level. Students can also take part in the various curricular and extracurricular art programs including theater, ceramics, and film production, depending on the school’s options.
