Apple Valley Christian School was founded in 1976 and is located in the High Desert area of San Bernardino County. It offers students a Christian values based education coupled with small classes and a variety of extracurricular activities. The high school consists of about 110 students and all enjoy the close knit community in which they study. Despite being small, the school has a lot to offer both domestic and international students. Students can participate in several sports such as Basketball, Baseball, and Cross-Country as well as several academic competitions such as Math Olympics, Speech Meet, and Band & Piano Festivals. Students also have the opportunity to give their time and help to others through community service and Mission trips. In addition, several other trips are arranged for students.
The school has a beautiful campus set on 25 acres of land and consists of 4 separate buildings with over 45,000 square feet of space, including 30 classroom, an indoor gymnasium, play areas and ball fields. The Apple Valley community is quickly expanding and AVCS is prepared to grow with it.
Academics
Apple Valley offers a college preparatory curriculum which focuses on the Christian view of the world and developing critical thinking skills. The school also offers several courses at the Honors level challenging students to do their best. In addition to core classes, students are encouraged to explore their artistic abilities in music and art. Students graduate as well rounded young adults and 90% continue on to university. College Acceptance 90%.
Location
Located in Southern California’s Victor Valley region, approximately 40 miles northeast of San Bernardino, 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles and 190 miles south of Las Vegas, Apple Valley is home to approximately 75,000 residents. Known as the "High Desert", Apple Valley offers has everything to offer international students: 350 days of sunshine, 15 recreational parks including extensive trails for walking, biking and horseback riding, and 200 stores including teenage staples such as Target, fast food restaurants, and movie theaters.
