The town of Belmont is a safe residential suburban community located in the greater Boston area. With a population of about 25,000, Belmont has a lot to offer both its residents as well as international students. Belmont High School is the only high school in the town. With a student population of close to 1200 the School offers a dynamic atmosphere for domestic and international students alike. Ranked among the top 30 schools in the region the excellent academic program includes Advanced Placement Courses in most of the school subjects taught. A few examples are Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science. The school also has an excellent foreign languages department offering classes in French, Spanish, Chinese and Latin.
Sports are highly competitive at the school with 17 league championships being won last year. There are 28 sports offered including for example Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Ice Hockey, and Tennis. Its distinguished Arts Department also offers students fantastic possibilities for academic as well as extra-curricular activities within the fields of Music, Dance, Visual Arts and Drama.
