Community Profile

Birmingham Community Charter High School (BCCHS) is an independent charter high school serving students in grades 9 through 12. As a school community, BCCHS is committed to ensuring that an innovative and academically challenging environment is provided; which will prepare students to demonstrate mastery of the California Content Standards, meet all State of California graduation requirements, and pursue their post high school academic, career and personal goals. BCCHS offers personalized learning for their students through “Small Learning Communities”. Currently they have six communities: Freshman Academy, Creative and Liberal Arts Academy, Social Justice and Media Academy, Medical, Athletic, Science and Health Academy, Technology and Business Academy, and Performing and Visual Arts Academy.

Community Information

The school campus is centrally located in the San Fernando Valley and students have easy access to public transportation. The school is within 20 minutes of downtown Los Angeles, adjacent to scenic Lake Balboa, and boasts of a campus of more than 70 acres.
