Since the start in 1973 Capistrano Valley has been preparing the Christian leaders of tomorrow for life after high school. It is easy to understand how successful the school is when hearing that 98% of its graduates go on to attend their first college of choice! Students at the school enjoy not only high quality and challenging academics through the college prep curriculum but also the possibility to attend the award winning arts or championship athletics programs offered. The school’s stated vision is that “CVCS exists to provide a loving, comprehensive, Christ-centered educational program, challenging students spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially, encouraging a lifestyle that integrates Biblical truths.”

Even though the school is smaller it offers an extensive athletics program with teams in: Football, Cross Country, Volleyball, Tennis, Golf, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball and Softball.

The arts are a very important part of the school with extensive academic courses as well as extracurricular activities in areas such as: Music, Musical Theater, Choir, Visual Arts, and Media Center. CVCS is the proud recipient of the ACSI Exemplary Performing Arts Awards

The school also offers its students a number of weekend activities such as Movie trips, Shopping trips, Beach trips, Theme parks and various outings.

Academic

At Capistrano Valley Christian High School, the goal is to provide students with a distinctively Christian worldview education with the aim to help students examine concepts and misconceptions in all subjects taught. The goal of the academic work carried out by the school’s dedicated teachers is to empower all students to distinguish between truth and untruth, ethical and unethical, and have the ability to examine all aspects of their learning and life experiences from a Christian perspective. The average class size is 17 students with a maximum of 20 students to a class in some subjects. Advance Placement Courses are taught in many subjects for example Biology, Chemistry, European History and Calculus. Additional courses include Art, Choir, Musical Theatre, Dance, Physical Education, and Computers.

Location

Capistrano Valley Christian School is located in southern California just south of Los Angeles. The campus is situated in a very nice residential area just one mile from the sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean. With the location comes of course the beautiful weather of Sunny California!
