Elgin Academy
Elgin, Illinois
The Upper School years are ones of great personal growth for students. Elgin Academy maintains a focus on this growth when planning both curricular and co-curricular programs. An essential part of this process is our advisory program which pairs each student with an EA faculty member who serves as his/her advisor and provides academic and personal guidance as well as advocacy in dealings with teachers, administration, and parents. To enhance academic growth for each student, the Academy offers multiple levels of courses, including regular college preparatory, honors/accelerated, and Advanced Placement. We encourage students to challenge themselves intellectually and offer a curriculum with a range of electives, including opportunities for independent study.
School Mission
Elgin Academy is a preschool through grade 12 independent, college preparatory, coeducational day school committed to developing the full potential of each of its students. Through a proactive partnership among faculty, parents, and students in a nurturing, dynamic, challenging, and diverse community, the Academy creates an environment where students may acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become intellectually engaged and confident about their place in the world.
