The Marvelwood School

Marvelwood is a small college preparatory school with a personalized approach to education. We work with average to above average students who want to be involved in their education. Supplementing our academics are offerings in art, music, drama, competitive and non-competitive sports, award-winning community service and science programs and individual instruction in study skills.
Marvelwood students have a wide variety of backgrounds and learning styles, and require a flexible curriculum. Small classes, dedicated faculty members, a strong adviser program, and supervised study time ensure that each student receives the individual attention he or she needs. “Hands-on” learning in every facet of the academic program is a major emphasis at Marvelwood.
The mountaintop campus is located in breath-taking Kent, Connecticut and just two hours away from New York City and JFK airport. We provide a caring environment where success happens. Our graduates are accepted to top colleges and universities.
Academic and Sport Facilities
Schwischer Science Building (classroom building), Herman J. Heidrich (fine arts center), Founders Hall (classrooms/music rooms), Fazi-Richard Athletic Center (gymnasium), CW Richard Memorial Baseball Field, Soccer/football stadium, girls’ softball field, 3 hard court tennis courts, 5 miles of cross-country/hiking trails.
Dormitories and School Residences
Most students live in single rooms. All rooms have telephone lines and internet access. Each dormitory has a computer room as well as a common room (television areas).
Starting Dates:
Applications due January 30th, rolling admissions after that.
Registration for all international students is September 4th. Orientation is September 5th, 6th and 7th. Classes start on the 8th.
