Matignon High School
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Since 1947 Matignon has proudly served the Greater Boston region as one of the Archdiocese’s premier co-educational Catholic schools. A school known for its academic rigor in the classroom and athletic prowess in the Catholic Central League, Matignon has a rich heritage and proud history. Over the course of close to six decades a lot has changed, but the love of learning and the proud traditions of the school remain the same. In the recent years, many well thought out changes have occurred at Matignon. The school has completely renovated science labs, library-media center, locker rooms, fitness room, and athletic fields installed innovative smart-board technology in all of the classrooms.
These elements have combined to increase the student population by over 44% in the last two years. While increasing its population, Matignon has kept its commitment to retain small class sizes as demonstrated by 17 to 1 student to classroom teacher ratio. The school has also increased the rigor of its curriculum while adding new extra-curricular activities for students.
As a small school with under 400 students, Matignon High School’s athletic opportunities are available to all students interested in participating in a sport. With a variety of interesting and educational clubs, the extra-curricular program is unmatched. Students are also encouraged to give back to the neighborhood through community service programs throughout the region.
