South Kent is a boarding school for boys only in grades 9-12 and postgraduate, located in the heart of the Litch field Hills in northwestern Connecticut. An enrollment of 150 students and a teaching staff of 35 translate into small classes and individualized attention for students. The average class has eight students enabling all students to receive the individual attention so critical during secondary educational development.

We have an innovative, theme centered integrated curriculum called the Form Program/ the Hero’s Journey. This combines a rigorous yet supportive academic programs, competitive athletics and opportunities in both studio and fine arts. While we are embracing the new millennium – cellular phones service, wireless campus, curriculum advances, and state of the art facilities with student amenities – and the changes these bring, we are also true to our past and the important values on which the school was founded in 1923. South Kent offers boys the chance to show off their strengths while developing their talents in a caring and honorable environment located five minutes walking distance from the small town of Kent where you find shopping, dining, community events. In close New Milford you also find movies, mall, Wall-Mart and much more.

Academic and Sport Facilities

Main building, Library, Science building, Academic resource center, Art studio, Theatre, Dining hall, Student store, Student center, and an Infirmary.

Indoor gym, Indoor ice hockey rink, 2 Soccer fields, Football field, Lacrosse field, Baseball field, Weight room and a Rowing center.

Dormitories and School Residences

8 dormitories, mostly double occupancy though there are a limited number of single rooms and quads (4 students in a room). All dorms have complete wireless access to the school sever including internet. There are common rooms in all dorms with kitchenettes, TV and social spaces, there are no based telephones in student rooms but students are permitted to have cellular phones.
