School Profile
Winthrop High School provides a safe, respectful environment where all students are challenged to reach their full academic and social potential. It is a small school with just over 550 students, in grades nine through twelve. Winthrop High School has a rich tradition and a community that takes pride and ownership for the learning experiences for all its students. In 2011, the Washington Post named Winthrop High School one of the Best 20 High Schools in the State of Massachusetts.
The school believes that each student is a valued individual with unique, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. They seek to foster a climate of shared responsibility among students, faculty, administration, parents and the community at large.
Community Information
Winthrop High School is located in a colonial New England seaside community, only five miles from downtown Boston. Students will have easy access to public transport that will lead into the city centre.
