School Matching and Placement

Explorius Education Local Coordinator will match the student with the school most suitable for placement.

Upon completion of the placement in the school a host family will be selected in the local area.

School Placement Criteria

The student applies to the program country of choice and not a particular school. The schools in the program vary a lot in size and profile as well as location. The object is to find a school that is suitable for the student based on the following criteria:

Student interests for school subjects

Student academic level and previous performance

Available space

High schools in the Nordic Countries differ a lot from high schools in for example the USA in the sense that they are more focused on the academics and not on other things that occur around the traditional schooling such as sports, clubs and extracurricular activities. Students who wish to do a certain sport or other activity during their year abroad will need to find attendance outside of school.
