Tom Ericsson's commitment to help international students study abroad began almost 30 years ago in Sweden. Since then, Tom has been an industry leader in several prominent global study abroad organizations including ASPECT and today of course, Explorius AB and Educatius International.
Through Tom’s vision, Educatius International was one of the first organizations to offer USA F1 Private Day and Public High School programs to international students. Through an extensive network of school partners, caring host family coordinators and professional staff, Educatius now welcomes thousands of students a year from over 50 countries to study at an American high school. Today Educatius' study abroad programs for international students also include University Placement in the USA as well as inbound High School programs in 13 other countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Australia and Scandinavia. Tom is also the founder of AiDucatius, supporting the alleviation of poverty by providing tuition payments, school supplies and clean drinking water to disadvantaged communities in Africa and South America.
Richard graduated from college in Innsbruck Austria in hotel management. After spending some years in the hotel industry he ended up working for STS (student travel schools), a Swedish based educational company. He worked in different management positions for 13 years.
Richard started his own IT company selling a specialised software for the tour operator industry before joining Educatius as a CFO 3 years ago. Richard has over 25 years of experience in the education/travel industry.
President - Educatius North America
Paul has 15 years of industry experience and joined Educatius after serving in senior executive roles in two other leading student exchange organizations. He's a strategic leader who focuses on forming long-term partnerships with customers. Paul brings a great mix of leadership, inspiration, operational experience, technical breadth, and passion for our business that translates to organizational growth and innovation.
Paul received a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and is an alumnus of Stanford University Graduate School of Business (SEP).
Vice President of Academic and Client Services, North America
Originally from Singapore, Corinne graduated from the University of Western Australia and subsequently embarked on a global business career in the financial services and education industries. Corinne's international marketing, client relationship management and business planning experience include senior leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies. She also designed and managed the international program at one of the largest boarding and day schools on the east coast of the U.S. as well as led the marketing and business strategy team at a 26-year old international education company.
At Educatius, Corinne provides leadership to three departments - Student Experience, Direct Sales and Client Services.
Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development
Originally from Bulgaria, Tsveta graduated with a degree in International Business from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. She brings to Educatius close to 15 years of experience developing and managing teams and programs in the international, nonprofit and K-12 education sectors. Tsveta is a dynamic connector with strong history of building solid relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders at leading social-sector organizations.
In her role at Educatius, Tsveta is responsible for maintaining and building a strong portfolio of school partnerships and identifying and developing new business solutions for our North American market. She is based in our Boston office and resides in the area with her family.
Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Raised in Toronto Ontario, Carla graduated from the University of Western Ontario. From teaching kindergarten to international students in Taiwan, marketing study abroad programs for ASPECT International, managing an online ad agency in Hawaii, to overseeing a China business training center in Canada, Carla is inspired by international education, technology and intercultural communications. Carla also directed $62 Million Canadian federal environmental program "Retire Your Ride," was the founder of the Canada China Environmental Forum, and served on the board of directors for international organizations HKCBA and OWIT.
At Educatius International, Carla works with a global team developing online channels to support local recruitment of academic international students for high schools and universities in the USA.
Dr. Sharon Tan
Dr. Sharon Tan received her Ph.D., M.Phil. and M.S. Biology from Yale University where she was awarded the Davenport Hooker Fellowship for Distinguished Academic Standing. Her extensive experience in education and research includes her tenure as a professor at the University of Massachusetts and Curry College, and as a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Chicago and The University of Texas.
At Educatius, Dr. Tan leads our Academic Excellence Services. With more than a decade of experience advising high school and college students, her unparalleled expertise in navigating the USA high school system and USA college application process makes her uniquely suited to help high school students succeed.
Director of Sales, Asia
Andreas has worked in the education industry since 1997. After graduating from the University of Lund he joined STS Student Travel Schools working in various positions for high school and other international education programs.
After a 3 year break from the industry, Andreas spent time in the recruitment as a Regional Director for Adecco. He later joined Educatius becoming responsible for agent sales 7 years ago.
General Manager China
Sales and Marketing Director, China and Vietnam
Emma was born and raised in Sweden. After finishing high school she went to Beijing for a year to study Mandarin Chinese. Ever since then Asia has played an important part of her life. In college she went to the United States where she majored in International Relations with a focus on Asia.
For the last 10 years she has worked in the study abroad industry predominately involved with placing international students from China and Vietnam. Having been an international student in both China and the United States and fluent in Swedish, English and Mandarin Chinese, Emma believes strongly in the mission of Educatius to provide opportunities for more students to study abroad.
Director of Sales China
Tomas has been working in the international education industry for eight years since finishing his studies with focus on Sales and Marketing in Gothenburg.
Starting with B2C recruitment of students going on language training courses Tomas moved onto managing the Swedish market for STS.
Moving into the B2B market Tomas headed up the Agent department for the same company for two years. This took him around the world, managing partners in South America, Europe and Asia where he moved to in 2014.
Tomas started working for Educatius Group in China in January 2015. His passions are: food, traveling, fashion and meeting interesting people.
Country Manager, Korea
Barney Kim graduated from Korea University and worked at LG for two years before starting at ASPECT Int’l language school in 1995. At ASPECT he worked as a country manager of the Korea office for five years and then he worked as a country manager at STS Korea until 2005. From 2006, he worked under Explorius until 2016 before joining Educatius Korea as the country manager. He has been working with Tom for more than 23 years and he has been with Educatius since the beginning.
Sales Manager, Turkey
Since she studied Social Anthropology at Istanbul University, she fell in love with learning and understanding the diversity of other cultures. She followed her passion to London where she lived for over a year as an ESL student and enjoyed the experience of living with a host family.
Her university life set her on course to become an international education counselor in 1998, and after eight years of working with students & parents, she left to pursue her career by working closely with agents as the country manager for a global language school group managing their liaison office in Turkey for three and a half years.
After taking a short time pursuing other opportunities, she came back to the international education industry in 2012 by becoming the editor-in-chief of a unique student magazine and portal as well as a consultant helping international education providers with their marketing efforts to recruit in Turkey.
Starting in February 2016, Sara joined the Educatius team as our sales manager for Turkey.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Brazil
Juliana is working in the industry of International Education since 2000, after returning from one year as high school student in Florida and working for Disney World during a summer program. Graduated in Marketing, worked for great established agents in Brazil sending students all over the world and spent 4 years in New Zealand, where had the opportunity to work as general manager for a high school organization based in Auckland, working with students from Brazil, Germany, Italy and Spain. Working for Educatius since 2013, has the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for Latin America.
Sales Support, Latin America
Son of Portuguese immigrants, Thiago was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where he graduated in tourism at a local university. Thiago started his career in the early 2000´s as an intern at the Walt Disney World, where he could have hands-on experience with customer service. He has a wide experience abroad as a student and has been in the international education industry for over 10 years, dealing with different types of programs. At Educatius, Thiago is the sales support for agents in Latin America as an expert in Worldwide High School programs.
Sales Support Manager
Caroline has been working in the international education industry since finishing her university studies in 2009. She was an exchange student herself in the US during high school and she also spent one year studying in France before starting law studies at the University of Stockholm. She also recently spent 5 years with the company in Boston. Caroline is now based in Stockholm and works with European agents.
Business Development Manager
Being inspired from his own experience as one of the first German Select High School program students in Australia, 20 years ago. Christian founded the first Germany based High School agencies focusing on Select High School programs to Australia and New Zealand in 1998.
With his enterpreneural way of thinking, he developed High School industry focused IT systems, marketing tools (such as the Insiderfair concept) and programs which helped his agency to become the leader in the German speaking market for studies Downunder between 2011 and 2015.
Christian joined the Educatius Group in 2016 where he is responsible for various world-wide projects such as Insiderfairs (student fairs, agent workshops, familiarization trips), setting up the Explorius IATA flight ticket office as well as the structure and development of select programs in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Director of Admissions
Pierre is originally from Sweden and during the 10 years in the industry he has worked as an agent sending student abroad to all parts of the world. Pierre moved to Boston in 2011 to set up the Boston office and the Customer Service division for Educatius enrollment department. His experience as an agent is a very valued knowledge to bring into the Customer Service Division where he is today.
During the period of 1997-2000 Pierre lived and studied at the Università Per Stranieri in Siena Italy. Pierre was also competing for the city’s Judo club in the Italian league during his time in Italy.
