School DescriptionEstablished in 1992, St. Johns Academy - Vancouver is located in downtown Vancouver and offers a unique educational experience for students. In addition to an ELL Immersion Program, St. John’s Academy - Vancouver offers a rigorous STEM program and courses in
Music, Fine Arts, Design, Humanities, and Language Arts. St. Johns Academy - Vancouver also offers special opportunities for students such as a Mentorship Program, a Forensics Program, and a University Exploration Program.
St. Johns Academy - Vancouver has a downtown campus in Vancouver with modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology. The school is currently renovating new facilities to support students success. Currently in development are updated art studios for visual arts, music, and drama.
SPORTS AND ARTS
St. John’s Academy - Vancouver competes in the Greater Vancouver Independent Schools Athletic Association. Popular sports are Basketball and Soccer, but students can choose to compete in others through the Greater Vancouver Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Students can choose to take arts courses such as Media Arts, Drama, Contemporary Music, and more. The arts program at St. John’s Academy - Vancouver prepares students for art competitions and events.
Vancouver has many attractions for international student to explore. Students have access to all local parks, museums, the aquarium, sports centers, stadiums, science facility centers, and an astronomy center, among others.

Coquitlam School District
Coquitlam, in Metro Vancouver, is a public school district in British Columbia, Canada. In addition to seven foreign language options and ESL, Coquitlam’s varied programs include Advanced Placement, the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma, French Immersion, Sports Academies, and a Confucius Institute. Students in the Coquitlam School District also take part in a large number of extracurricular programs including eSports, Model United Nations, Fly Fishing, and many more. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement Courses in the areas on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. In addition to these AP Courses, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District also offers French Immersion and Dual Credit Courses with Vancouver Island University for students to receive college credit. Gulf Islands School District
SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES Gulf Islands School District based on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia is home to Gulf Islands Secondary School. Students attending this school district can choose to take part in the French Immersion program. Students also have the opportunity of taking AP Studio Art or AP Literature or can also take Dual Credit courses in both trade and non-trade courses. Students in this district have the opportunity to explore more specialized course options such as leadership and robotics. In this school district students only study for four days a week, meaning that whilst they have a longer school day, meaning that students study for the same amount of time as those in five day schools, Friday is a special day reserved for activities, certificate programs, and allows for students to focus on their passions . FACILITIES Facilities at Gulf Islands allow students to pursue interests in culinary arts, metal work, wood work, and arts. Students also have access to exceptio
