School DescriptionNorthcote College is a state co-educational high school that was established in 1877 and is the high school on the North Shore with the longest history. The school has a large campus with excellent facilities such as specialist teaching rooms, two gymnasiums, a swimming pool, video studio, computer rooms and library. Northcote College has over 15 years experience hosting students from other countries.
The school stresses positive relationships. It begins with teachers who care about each student as an individual and who create learning opportunities which work. We have 1150 students and is small enough for each student to be known and feel like an important part of something special. We focus on having the very best teachers and are big enough to offer a wide range of subjects.
There are many sports available and students are encouraged to participate. Cultural Success includes a music department has an orchestra, choir, chamber groups and a jazz band that is a New Zealand winner. The Drama Department has won regional and national competitions.
