School Description

Located in the historic coastal city of Portsmouth, St John's College is a coeducational independent boarding school. A Christian school by tradition, St. John's is an inclusive community and also welcomes students of all beliefs. Alongside their studies, Sixth Form students at St. John's College can enjoy a rewarding enrichment programme including options such as the Extended Project Qualification, Sports Leader Award, Employability Skills and Volunteering.

St. John's College has a array of indoor and outdoor facilities on campus available to students. They have study spaces for all of their programmes like Engineering or Science and even have a cafe on campus. The Edwardian boarding houses at St. John's College are located right in the centre of Southsea, just a stone's throw from the beach.

An action-packed activities programme is in place every day of the week, offering students a wide range of sports. Examples of sports on offer are rugby, basketball and indoor football.
There are many extracurricular activities, such as Art Club and Music Tech Club to enrich the school’s art program including Art & Design, Music, Drama and Photography.

Students at the school consistently achieve grades well above the national average at both GCSE and A Level and a great community spirit is present.

St. John's College is located in the beautiful seaside resort of Southsea, just south of Portsmouth city centre and east of Old Portsmouth. Boarders enjoy their living location with the local shops, beach, cinema and Gunwharf Quays all within easy walking distance. The school also arranges social events and weekend trips for students.
