Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School (MCP) is a Catholic, coeducational, college-preparatory, secondary school in the Diocese of Monterey. Mission College Prep offers 70 college prep courses approved and certified by the University of California, meeting “a-g” core and elective requirements. MCP offers 7 Honors courses and 12 Advanced Placement classes. In addition, MCP offers 11 courses based in leadership, drama, physical education, health, and Catholic Theology. MCP elective offerings have been expanded based on student interest to include video production, electronic robotics, digital photography, art, creative writing, music, and drama. MCP runs a block schedule where students take up to 4 classes per day, for 80 minutes per class.
MCP provides state-of-the-art facilities to support student programming across the curriculum in a healthy and safe fashion. The Mission Prep field was renovated in 2007, fully equipped with permanent lighting and a natural grass playing surface. It is home to Mission Prep Football, Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer, as well as Baseball. The Mission Prep Gym was inaugurated in Fall 2004 It is home to Mission Prep Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball, Boy’s and Girl’s Volleyball. The gym possesses state of the art pine flooring, as well as NBA Style portable Porter backboards.
Sports and Arts
Mission College Prep's community frequently celebrates student performances in athletics, graphic art, music and drama, and students plan, coordinate, and produce these events: from technical production in theater to setting up video media for assemblies; from scripting rallies and producing the program for their Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament to producing live video announcements each morning. Students learn to orchestrate every step of the process.
Athletics is an essential tool for developing student leadership, as participation in athletics teaches responsibility and sportsmanship. They currently have 18 Varsity Teams, 9 Junior Varsity Teams, and 1 Freshmen Team. About 78% of their students participated in at least 1 sport last year and 20% of their student athletes earned scholar-athlete distinction, as recognized by the California Interscholastic Federation.

Mission Prep Athletics has prided itself on a tradition of excellence on and off the field and court, and has won 47 CIF Championships.
