School Description

Founded in 1962, Colorado Springs School is a private, college preparatory day school. Students learn through traditional and experiential methods based in “real world” experiences inside and outside of the classroom.

The 28-acre campus is located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains on a former estate built in 1907. The school’s main building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The school’s facilities include a theater, gallery, performing arts center, gymnasium, and newly developed innovation lab.

Some of the competitive athletic teams offered at Colorado Springs include soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, tennis, lacrosse, golf, and mountain biking. For those with more creative interests, three plays/musicals are performed each year in the on-campus performing arts center. The school also offers many arts courses.

Niche ranked The Colorado Springs School the third-best private school in Colorado. The school was also ranked #1 Best Private School by The Colorado Springs Business Journal in 2016.

Home to the United States Olympics Training Center, Colorado Springs is a destination for year-round outdoor activities such as running, hiking, cycling, and winter sports.

Completion of online application required. Age restrictions: applicants must apply for the appropriate grade level based on age during enrollment (Grade 9: 14/15 years old; Grade 10: 15/16 years old; Grade 11: 16/17 years old) and educational background. School does not enroll 18 year olds in grade 11 - they cannot be older than 19 to graduate from CSS. Minimum TOEFL for grade 9 applicants is 85 - MInimum TOEFL for grades 10 - 11 is 90.
