School Profile
Scottsburg High School is one of the premier public high schools in Southern Indiana. Their community of learners create and collaborate in a tech-rich environment where all students have access to mobile devices. Scottsburg High offers opportunities for students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group work, physical competition, diversity, and a sense of community with their wide variety of courses, sports and extracurricular activities. Over 95% of the staff members at Scottsburg have secondary degrees and work hard at encouraging students to excel in their studies.

Scottsburg has a campus that provides some of the best educational opportunities in southern Indiana. The campus includes equipment and space for their two educational tracks; High Schools That Work and New Tech. There is also a full-size football field, track, and baseball field on the schools grounds for use by the various sports teams.

As an integral part of the student experience at Scottsburg, they have over 15 sports teams and offer award winning programs in arts. International high school students will be able to compete with unique sports teams like Archery and Bowling. Scottsburg has also been known to be a strong competitor in basketball with both the boys’ and girls’ teams bringing home over 50 titles. In addition to a strong sports program, Scottsburg’s has a number of art classes and activities available to students. International students can participate in their award winning newspaper and publishing course or concert band. The music department has consistently ranked as one of the top high school music departments in the state of Indiana.

The Scottsburg City community is very warm and welcoming. It is part of the larger area known as Scott County. The area around Scottsburg has a long history dating back more than 135 years that can show international high school students an eye into the US Mid-west. Scottsburg is centrally located to three major US cities. To the south is Louisville in Kentucky. To the east is Cincinnati in Ohio. To the north is the capital and largest city of Indiana, Indianapolis.
