Located in the U.S. “Heartland,” nicknamed for its location in the heart of the country and its kind and caring communities, Blue Valley Schools district consists of five high schools accepting international students. These award-winning high schools offer dual enrollment courses for college credit as well as over a dozen AP options.
Blue Valley's facilities include gymnasiums, up-to-date classrooms, and a recently introduced Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), a cutting edge research facility that provides mentorships and dual-credit college courses.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Blue Valley students can participate in sports such as basketball, softball, and American football.
The district’s art students participate in local, regional, and national festivals and competition. Arts options include broadcasting, drama club, and more..
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The district’s high schools were named top high schools in Kansas and the US by US News and World Report as well as the Washington Post. The CAPS program received the 2016-17 Exemplary School Award. The district was also awarded the prestigious Governor’s Award and Blue Ribbon Award from the US Department of Education. In 2018, two Blue Valley graduates were named Presidential Scholars.
Consistently ranked in the top 100 best cities to live in the US by CNN and Money Magazine, Overland Park is a suburb of nearby Kansas City and is the second largest city in the state of Kansas. Kansas City, only 20 minutes away, features cultural and educational destinations such as the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

DISTRICT PROFILE Four high schools in Paradise Valley Unified School District are currently welcoming international students. All of the district’s high schools offer AP and honors courses. Many of the Paradise Valley high schools have exceptional academic programs, like the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma. FACILITIES Some of the district’s facilities include recently remodeled 1,000-seat auditorium and large capacity artificial turf football stadium. Because Phoenix has great weather year round, all campuses feature outdoor terraces with lunch tables and benches for students to enjoy the sunshine between classes. SPORTS AND ARTS The district offers competitive athletics including traditional U.S. sports such as American football and baseball as well as less traditional sports such as badminton. Students in grades 9-11 can participate in sports. Paradise Valley’s arts program is particularly impressive, featuring unique courses such as culinary arts, architectural drafting, and photojournalism. SCHOOL PROFILE BASIS Scottsdale is a competitive, high-caliber high school. Ranked the Number 3 high school in the USA by U.S. News and World Report, it was established in 2003 to provide students with an internationally-competitive curriculum that will prepare them for whatever they choose to pursue. FACILITIES Located in Downtown Scottsdale on 10 acres, BASIS Scottsdale’s new facilities opened for the 2016-17 school year. The school features state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, a basketball court, and performing arts facilities. SPORTS AND ARTS There are a number of opportunities for BASIS Scottsdale students to express themselves outside of the classroom. The school offers a number of different sports for both boys and girls throughout fall, winter, and spring. Students in grades 9-11 can participate in sports. In terms of arts, BASIS Scottsdale students can take part in a number of performing and fine arts opportunities, including several AP classes in the arts.
