"International students who study at a US high school have an inside-track to attend a US University," according to Educatius Group's Academic Director Dr. Sharon Tan.
It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!
The Newman School is located in the heart of one of the most famous cities in the US: Boston. Students are challenged both intellectually and personally through the school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program and selection of college-preparatory course work at the honors level. FACILITIES Built in 1881, The Newman School facility is located in Boston’s historic Back Bay. The school, once a home, is one of the largest intact examples of Victorian and Edwardian residential architecture in the United States. Students also have access to off-campus sports facilities. SPORTS AND ARTS The sports program at The Newman School takes advantage of the nearby Charles River to allow students to pursue unique interests such as sailing, crew, and more. Newman has a wide array of fine arts courses and club activities available. The clubs offered each year reflect the interests of the current student community and can include drama, photography, chorus, and more. COMMUNITY INFORMATION
Founded in 1811, Thornton Academy is one of New England’s oldest college preparatory schools. Its comprehensive curriculum consists of 200 courses, including seven foreign languages, 30 arts classes, and more than 60 AP, dual enrollment, and honors courses. Pope Francis Preparatory School is a Catholic co-educational, college-preparatory school that fosters academic excellence. Located in Springfield, MA, Pope Francis recently opened a new campus in the Fall of 2018. Distinguished for its challenging Advanced Placement/Honors curriculum, students can chose from six Academic Pathway programs to help their academic pursuits.
