It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!

What is the most important factor for international students when selecting a US high school to apply to?
Food is important when studying abroad. Today, I will give you an introduction to American foods you need to try while abroad.
Saint Edward’s School is an independent, Episcopal, non-parochial, school with a challenging curriculum. International students can join programs like STEM, entrepreneurship/business classes, a Global Initiatives Program, and internship opportunities. FACILITIES The beautiful 33-acre campus is set along Florida’s Treasure Coast off the Indian River Lagoon. Other facilities include an 800-seat performing arts center, an aquatic complex, gymnasiums, and a fine arts center with music and art studios. There are also two libraries, athletic fields, and science labs. They are currently building a new swim complex that is due to be completed in 2022. SPORTS AND ARTS Saint Edwards School has a competitive sports program, fielding numerous championship teams. International students are encouraged to join! Many of the school’s fine and performing arts courses such as choral and instrumental music, art history, technical theater, and speech performance are taught by practicing professionals.
Rutgers Preparatory School (RPS) offers a full college preparatory and Advanced Placement curriculum. The school has also won several awards for their strong Science Olympia teams. FACILITIES Built with outstanding technology, the school has Makerspace facilitates, a dedicated art and music building and a state-of-the-art fitness center for students to utilize. SPORTS AND ARTS The school has 33 sports teams with approximately 80 percent of students participating in some form of organized athletics at either the junior varsity or varsity level. A broad arts program is offered with courses in visual arts, choral and instrumental music, and drama. Students participate in several performances each year. COMMUNITY INFORMATION Located approximately 50 minutes southwest of New York City, the town of Somerset offers students the opportunity to visit historical sites, enjoy parks and recreational areas, and shop at a variety of stores. There are a total of nine co-educational high schools in the Davis School District. Altogether, they offer a number of programs that include the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma, an impressive math and science program, and a Career Academies. The district also offers dual enrollment courses for college credit, digital media programs, and an extensive selection of clubs and athletics. FACILITIES The facilities in the Davis School District vary from school to school, but at every school students will be able to utilize an auditorium, gymnasium, libraries with large collections of digital books, Wi-Fi connection, and sports facilities. SPORTS AND ARTS Each high school offers competitive sports programs. One of the district high schools has a fantastic girls basketball program that has won the state championship in previous years.
