"International students who study at a US high school have an inside-track to attend a US University," according to Educatius Group's Academic Director Dr. Sharon Tan.
It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!
Founded in 1811, Thornton Academy is one of New England’s oldest college preparatory schools. Its comprehensive curriculum consists of 200 courses, including seven foreign languages, 30 arts classes, and more than 60 AP, dual enrollment, and honors courses. Established in 1831, Newburyport High School is one of the 30 oldest public high schools in the United States. Both the school and the community of Newburyport received an "A-" or higher rating from Niche.com. In addition to foreign languages and ESL, students at Newburyport High School have the opportunity to take 15 AP Courses, Honors Courses, and Virtual High School online courses. The school also has an award-winning theater program that performs at festivals across the region. Cadets are able to obtain college credit while studying. Famous author of Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger, graduated from Valley Forge. FACILITIES Valley Forge’s 100-acre campus is a short ride from Philadelphia and features new tennis courts, basketball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped weight room with brand new state-of-the-art workout equipment, meeting rooms, and the L. Maitland Blank Hall of Fame. SPORTS AND ARTS VFMA has a strong athletic reputation and has gained national recognition in sports. Many alumni have gone on to play at the collegiate level.
