Located 30 minutes from Rhode Island’s capitol of Providence (home of Ivy League Brown University) and 6 minutes from beaches, Mt. Hope High School of Bristol is a US public school for students in grades 9-12. It offers the large student body a wide range of courses that includes over 15 Advanced Placements, more than 20 different arts classes and 60 afterschool activities. The high school also collaborates with local colleges in dual-credit programs.
Surrounded by groves of trees, the 42-acre campus features a gymnasium, six tennis courts, a football/track and field stadium, a baseball diamond, and a library with a digital media center.
SPORTS AND ARTS
The “Huskies” are proud of their reputation as a sports powerhouse. The high school boys boasts championships in divisional and state competitions for football, basketball, swimming and lacrosse. The girls have been just as impressive, winning titles in soccer, lacrosse, indoor track, tennis and softball. The award-winning music department has an outstanding marching band, as well as jazz, concert and symphonic bands. The Husky News Network is a live morning TV show produced and broadcasted by solely students.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Mt. Hope High School was named the 2014 Rhode Island Department of Education Commended School Award and was ranked fifth in Rhode Island for Best High Schools.
The town of Bristol is a scenic area with lots of parks and beaches. It’s only an hour and 30 minutes’ train ride from Boston and 4.5 hours from New York City. Aside also has many historic sites such as the Newport Mansions and Fort Adams. Best of all, the small town atmosphere gives international study abroad students a special window into traditional New England America.

Founded in 1811, Thornton Academy is one of New England’s oldest college preparatory schools. Its comprehensive curriculum consists of 200 courses, including seven foreign languages, 30 arts classes, and more than 60 AP, dual enrollment, and honors courses. Thornton’s dramatic arts are regarded as a highly developed program that includes courses in theater basics, acting, and technical theater with a focus on media arts. DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE Thornton Academy has two dormitories that have Wi-Fi, kitchenettes, laundry facilities, modern bathrooms, and lounges with big screen TVs. International students can also enjoy many weekend activities held on and off campus. Saint Edward's School
SCHOOL PROFILE Saint Edward’s School is an independent, coeducational Episcopal institution with a challenging upper-school curriculum prepares high school kids for college. International students can join programs like STEM, entrepreneurship/business classes, a Global Initiatives Program and internship opportunities while attending Saint Edward’s. FACILITIES The beautiful 33-acre campus is set along the Treasure Coast off the Indian River Lagoon—complete with a dock and a fleet of boats. Other facilities include an 800-seat performing arts center, aquatic complex, gymnasiums, fine arts center with music and art studios. There’s also two libraries, playing fields and science labs. SPORTS AND ARTS Saint Edwards School has a very competitive sports program, fielding numerous championship teams. The fine and performing arts programs’ instructors are practicing artists. Participation in choral and instrumental music, art and art history, as well as technical theater practice and design, and theater and speech performance, are all highly encouraged. COMMUNITY INFORMATION Vero Beach is a picturesque coastal town located in on the Treasure Coast of central Florida. DePaul Catholic High School
SCHOOL PROFILE DePaul Catholic High School is a co-educational college preparatory high school where the low student to teacher ratio allows for a more individualized education. At DePaul, international high school students from grades 9 to 12 have many offerings including three foreign languages, over 12 AP courses, and over 30 extracurricular activities. FACILITIES Since 2013, DePaul Catholic expanded facilities to include a new student information commons as well as a new admissions and advancement Suite. Furthermore, there is wireless internet available throughout the school campus. SPORTS AND ARTS Since 2012, DePaul Catholic has won 33 Championships in League, County and Conference level competitions. The school’s outstanding wrestling team won five consecutive district championships. In addition, ten student-athletes were awarded All-American status in their sport. Most impressively, 150 DePaul Catholic student-athletes, in the past 4 years, have gone on to play collegiate level sports. The Fine and Performing Arts Department allows students to explore their unique creative talents and sensibilities. Students engage with various media and techniques used by artists in the creative process with classes like Choir, Mixed Media and Theater.
