Our coordinators come from many different backgrounds.

Some have full time jobs while others are stay-at-home parents or are even retired!

What do Local Coordinators do? Local coordinators wear a number of different hats including:

  • Meeting the student upon their arrival in the USA or Canada
  • Explaining our program rules to the students & ensuring they understand what's expected of them
  • Checking in with students at least once a month
  • Acting as a liaison for both students and host families, particularly in terms of conflict resolution
  • Recruiting, interviewing, & vetting potential host families
  • Creating lasting relationships with students and host families
