Small class sizes emphasize college preparation while acres of ranch land and proximity to mountains promote an active lifestyle. Recently installed orchards, gardens, and vineyards facilitate a self-sustainable food production program.
The Orme School’s 300-acre campus sits on an additional 26,000 acres of ranch land. It features on-campus housing, athletic facilities, equestrian arenas, and a 100-mile bike lane. Students have access to a 24-hour health center, a unique on-campus restaurant, and educational resources such as a planetarium and green house.
SPORTS AND ARTS
In addition to traditional sports such as football, softball, and tennis, The Orme School’s location allows for an outstanding horsemanship program.
The school’s diverse arts program offers classic courses such as band and yearbook as well as more unique options, like their outdoor leadership class. Students can also take part in the annual Fine Arts Festival.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The Orme School has won the state championship in swimming, cross country, track and field, tennis, and chess. The Mathletes achieved an undefeated 2017-18 season and the Quiz Bowl Team was invited to the national championship.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
The dormitories’ blend of international and domestic students can participate in activities such as Friday night Frisbee and stargazing on mesas, which are isolated, elevated plateaus found in desert climates. The Orme School’s new on-campus International House opens in Fall 2018.
