Paradise Valley Unified School District has four high schools welcoming international students. All the district’s high schools offer Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses and a wide variety of extracurricular and after-school activities to keep students engaged. Many of the Paradise Valley high schools have exceptional programs like the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) at North Canyon High.
Some of the district’s outstanding facilities include Horizon High School’s recently remodeled 1,000-seat auditorium and North Canyon High School’s large capacity artificial-
turf football stadium. Because Phoenix has great weather year round, all campuses have park-like settings with lunch tables, benches and open-air areas for students to
relax outside in-between classes.
SPORTS AND ARTS
All students are encouraged to pursue their interests whether that be on on or off the field. The district offers team sports for all the traditional US sports including some less
traditional ones like Badminton. The arts program Paradise Valley is particularly impressive, including unique courses such as culinary arts, architectural drafting and photojournalism.
Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona and is ranked one of the fastest-growing cities in the US. The area is an exclusive tourist destination because of its characteristic identity and culture. Phoenix has just about everything an international student needs in the way of sports, recreation, arts, culture, and dining.
Special Comment: Pinnacle High School was named as one of Newsweek's Best 1,200 Schools in America during the 2007 school year. The high school ranks 625th out of the 1200 schools on the list and offers Advanced Placement, Structured English Immersion, Honors Program, State-of-the-Art Technology Integration, Signature Programs: Sports Medicine and Community Outreach.
Please Note: Students graduating from Paradise Valley High School are not eligible for Diploma if they plan to attend their home country's high school and earn a second diploma.
