San Francisco Waldorf High School

San Francisco Waldorf High School is one of more than one thousand Waldorf schools worldwide. Founded in 1997 as an independent, college preparatory school using Waldorf methods, the school’s rigorous academic curriculum integrates ethical values and creative exploration. All students study physics and calculus with additional Honors and Advanced Placement Courses. San Francisco Waldorf also takes part in the “Outdoor Classroom” initiative in order to connect students with nature and all that San Francisco has to offer.
The campus has classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, dedicated art studios, and a library media center with access to Macs and PCs. Construction on a new gym is estimated to be complete the summer of 2017.
SPORTS AND ARTS
International students are encouraged to gain leadership experience through participating in the many sports like sailing which is offered year round.
All students take four years of music and art, culminating each year with musical and theater performances and an annual arts showcase event.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
San Francisco Waldorf was the first school in San Francisco to be awarded the LEED Gold Certification for environmental design.
Located in the West Portal neighborhood in San Francisco, the school is walking distance to local businesses and right across from Muni stops (M and K). International students can take advantage of the De Young Museum, poetry writing on the beach, as well as lectures by local authors and activists.
