Saint Vincent de Paul High School, located in a residential neighborhood in the northern California town of Petaluma, is a coeducational, Catholic college preparatory high school founded in 1916. Each year the school educates an intimate student body, including international study abroad teens in grades 9-12.

FACILITIES
Outstanding state-of-the-art facilities include a gymnasium, a synthetic turf playing field for football, soccer, softball, baseball and lacrosse, plus music rooms, computer labs and Smartboards in the classrooms.

SPORTS AND ARTS
The athletic program consists of a large variety of sports, including a championship football team. About 70 percent of students join competitive teams—many participating in multiple sports.

The school’s award-winning literary magazine, Amuse, is run entirely by students, and there are over 16 other different clubs and activities for kids to join, like the debate team, jazz ensemble, sculpture, ceramics, painting and more.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The school was named in the 2008 WASC report as the “Friendliest School in America” and its literary magazine was recognized for excellence by the National Council of Teachers of English Program.

The city of Petaluma lies about an hour north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. The charming historic downtown has lots of restaurant, shops and cafes, and was the setting for the 1973 movie by George Lucas, American Graffiti.
