Lime House

Private Boarding School – Dalston , Cumbria

Lime House School is a UK coeducational boarding and day school set amid rural countryside in the North of England. The school occupies a magnificent grand home designated as Grade II British Listed Building. In 2015 the Daily Telegraph's Small School League Table placed Lime House School in 2nd place due to their strong academic showing. In fact, recent scores reported say that 83% of GCSE pupils gained 5+ passes at grades A to C, and the A-Level pass rate was 89% (grades A-C). Non-native speaking international students, especially in the Senior and Sixth Form, receive strong support through IELTS preparation courses to help them reach the proficiency necessary to enter top UK universities.

Everyone is encouraged to join enrichments such as Wigton Rugby Club, Carlisle Cricket Club, Border City Swimming Club and more. One of the most popular extracurricular activities at Lime House School is the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Dormitories and Student Life

All boarding students are housed on the Main School site in a spacious house constructed in 1638. The boys occupy the main building in the "Rothley", "Hawksdale", "Lonsdale" and "Salkeld" areas while girls live in the adjacent "Cottage" building. All accommodations are shared (2 to 4 students per room) and feature well-equipped common areas with Sky TV.
