Moira House

Private Boarding School – Eastbourne , East Sussex

Moira House Girl's School is a UK boarding school located on the outskirts of the English seaside town of Eastbourne, it's been educating young women since 1875. Moira House Girl's School offers a well-balanced curriculum of GCSE core classes, more than 15 A-Level subjects, the prestigious English Baccalaureate programme, in addition to an ESL programme dedicated to non-native English learners. The aim of Moira House Girl's School is to ensure graduates go on to university knowing they are the best that they can be.

Facilities

The elegant school campus is set on 15 picturesque acres of grounds and is made up of four houses, each named after mythical figures and legends (Excalibur, Pegasus, Vulcan and Merlin). Outstanding facilities include an equestrian centre, a tennis academy and a swimming club.

Sports and Arts

Along with academic achievement, there's a strong emphasis placed on personal growth. To that end, each and every girl is encouraged to participate in a programme of sport and / or enrichment activity. Just some of the interesting choices are Latin, Chess, Music, Art, Drama and the ever-popular Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

Dormitories and Student Life

Boarding accommodation is warm and homelike, and every child is supervised around the clock by professional staff headed-up by a Senior Housemistress. Common rooms, kitchens, study halls and a library are only some of the perks student residents enjoy. Sixth Form students have membership to the Brighton University gym where they can take part in fun classes like yoga, spinning and Zumba. On weekends, outings are arranged to the beach, cultural/historical monuments, museums and galleries.
