St Edward's School is a UK independent day school occupying an 18th century mansion. Located on the former hunting lodge of King Edward the Confessor - the only English monarch to have ever been made a saint - it educates boys and girls aged 14 and above in the Roman Catholic tradition (all faiths are welcomed). Offering the prestigious STEM programme and a wide selection of GCSE and A-Level subjects (over 20), it's no wonder St Edward's School was recently awarded an ISI Excellent in all 8 categories. International students can rest assured that they'll have strong integration support through ESL programmes (up to IELTS).
The stunning, 7-acre senior campus is set amidst parkland with expansive views of the Cotswold Hills. Abbot Building was recently added and features a modern refectory, a drama studio and a performance hall.
Sports and Arts
There's an almost endless list of extracurricular activities and sports to participate in, from hockey-to-cricket-to-rounders-to-Zumba. Plus, after-school clubs such as Globetrotters, Photo, Italian, Combined Cadet Force and Debating Society are waiting to be joined. And of course, for those who enjoy performing arts, there's always drama, chapel/senior choir, chamber orchestra, plus brass and wind ensemble.
Foreign students love living in the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham (population of 115,000). Located in West England's region of Gloucestershire, the area is known for its spectacular natural beauty at the edge of the Cotswolds Hills. This typical English city offers a wide array of outdoor pursuits, festivals and cultural events. In fact, the British steeplechase horse race, the Gold Cup, is held there each March.
