Private Day School – Wellingborough , Northamptonshire

Located in the market town of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, Wellingborough School (established 1595) is one of the oldest academic institutions in England. The coeducational UK private day school welcomes pupils 13 to 18 years of age and offers a curriculum of 22 A-Level subjects and 17 GCSE courses (with 94% of students achieving a 5 A* - C grade). The list of famous alumni is long and includes royalty, statesmen, military officers, journalists, artists and more. What is more, because of its low international enrolment, foreign students are able to gain a truly authentic British school experience.

The beautiful 70-acre campus is surrounded by rural countryside. Instructional facilities include a senior art block, a new mathematics suite and a lecture/presentation space called "The Pod". Outdoors are rugby pitches (one floodlit), football pitches, cricket squares, lighted AstroTurf pitches, hard and Astro tennis courts, plus a rifle range, grass tracks and a 9-hole golf course. The indoor sports hall has football, basketball, badminton and netball courts, in addition to squash and gymnastics.

Sports and Arts

At Wellingborough School every student participates in sporting programmes whether through team and individual sport, or physical activities beyond the traditional athletic pursuits. The aim is to encourage young people to be active and healthy. There are numerous extracurricular enrichments to join, such as drama and musical theatre, chapel choir singing, CCF and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, debates, and Young Enterprise presentations.
