Host in the UK & Ireland

Opening your home and family to an international teenager can be an incredibly rewarding experience. At Educatius UK and Ireland our Host Families are the most valued component on our programmes as it is the family experience that can create the most treasured memories for our students and their hosts.

Our students come from all over the world to experience the culture and lifestyle of their chosen country. A Host Family is not just the provider of room and board but the dispenser of guidance and support in ensuring these teenagers have a successful programme. Many families choose to host as they wish to share their life with someone from a different background and learn about another culture.

Host Family Requirements

First and foremost, a host family is responsible for providing a caring environment for their student. Host families must provide a bedroom for the student with adequate space for a bed, chest of drawers/wardrobe and somewhere to study.  Host families are responsible for providing three well-balanced meals a day and must offer a packed lunch for the student on school days. If a student chooses to purchase lunch at school, the student will pay for the lunch.

Our host families are required to fill out and complete a detailed application, as well as pass a criminal background check on all adults present in the home, reference checks and an interview at home.

Monthly Stipend

Each family will receive a specified amount of money each month per student in order to offset this against living expenses.
