To be honest, I prefer the Canadian way of educating high schoolers better, but I also believe both education systems are some of the best in the world.

Founded in the 1800’s, the Ottawa Catholic School Board is located in Ottawa, Ontario which is the capital city of Canada. In addition to five foreign languages and ESL, students have the opportunity to take a wide variety of arts, honors, and dual credit courses. The Specialist High Schools Major (SHSM) program is offered for students to focus on a career path that matches their skills, interests, and talents. FACILITIES The Ottawa Catholic School Board hosts varying facilities at each of its schools around Ottawa. These facilities support success and include technology labs, art studios, music rooms, dance rooms, gymnasiums, photography studios, chapels, and more. SPORTS AND ARTS Students in the Ottawa Catholic School District have the option to play a number of different sports. Other sports options include intramural sports which provide students with a fun alternative to the competitive varsity athletic program. Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) is located within the close-knit community of Fergus, Ontario. With Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSMs) in Business, Environment, Health and Wellness, Hospitality and Tourism, Sports, and Technology, students can learn relevant skills for their future careers. Students can immerse themselves in the French language and culture by enrolling in the French Immersion program. Technology courses are available for students who are interested in robotics. FACILITIES CWDHS campus facilities are constantly being updated with new technologies to enhance students' education. The media center recently underwent a $100,000 renovation to install new speakers and computer systems. The school also centers around a beautiful light-filled atrium as a common space. SCHOOL PROFILE AND ACADEMICS The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is located along the coast of Lake Ontario and is a little more than an hour outside of Toronto. The Durham Catholic District School Board has four different foreign languages to offer in addition to their ESL program. All the schools in this district also have Advanced Placement courses for students to take as well as a couple Dual Credit course opportunities. There are also many electives for students to choose from including Drama, Law, and Marketing. Extracurricular activities are quite popular at the schools, featuring both artistic options such as Art Club and Drama Club and interest-based clubs such as Social Justice and Yearbook.
