Frequently asked questions

Educatius is the world’s largest organization dedicated to high school exchange programs for international students to study abroad. We have long-term partnerships with great high schools in the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain and Sweden. We bring students from more than 50 countries into these schools for a semester, a year or multiple years. We arrange for accommodation, either with a carefully screened host family – or to live with your friends on campus at an excellent boarding school. We provide caring supervision to ensure your well-being while you are on the program, and multiple layers of support to you and your family throughout the entire process.

You can study high school abroad in any of the ten countries where we have programs: the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain and Sweden, in a wide range of public, private and boarding schools in our amazing portfolio.

You can also study abroad from home! Our online programs allow you to obtain a Dual Diploma from a prestigious USA boarding school either in combination with a year in the USA or entirely from your home country. Educatius Academy’s Dual Diploma and online programs are designed to accelerate your chances of acceptance at your dream university.

Your high school exchange program is one of the best investments you and your family can make in your future, and our team will work with you and your budget to find the best fit for you. The fees for our programs cover tuition paid to the school, living with a host family or in dorm accommodation, meals, ongoing supervision and support, and regular reports to your parents. We also offer supplementary options at an additional cost, such as language lessons, Soft Landing Camps and more. Talk to your Educatius advisor to tailor the right program for you.

Visa requirements differ from country to country, and also according to your country of origin. Our Educatius counsellors are very knowledgeable about these matters; they will ensure that your study visa documents are provided to you in order to apply for your visa, if necessary, at your high school exchange destination!

From your first free consultation, you will be assigned a personal Educatius counsellor to support you throughout the application and preparation process. These are experienced staff members who can guide you to choose a high school study program abroad that’s right for you. We have staff or long-term, experienced partners in almost every country, so if you prefer to deal with someone in your home country in your local language, we’ll be happy to connect you with the local partner closest to you.

We do not offer scholarships or sponsorships for high school exchanges abroad. We do have a sister charitable organization, Aiducatius, that supports educational projects in Africa and Latin America, to which every international student and host family contributes indirectly.

We have a wide range of options, from budget-friendly and short-term to premium and long-term programs. To give you an example, the cost of an exchange in the USA can range from approximately US$15,000 for a Classic cultural immersion experience to approximately US$65,000 for a year in a prestigious boarding school in a major city. There are also short-term options in many destinations. Your personal Educatius advisor will help you find the best fit for you.

The normal age range for our programs is 14 to 18, and students should not have graduated from high school in their home country. Some boarding schools will accept younger students in middle school and older student for a PG year.

Because of our size and scale, we have an unparalleled portfolio of great schools in ten countries. We offer a wide range of options, from our budget-friendly Classic program, where we place you with a welcoming host family and choose a great school for you, to our premium Select program, where you choose the exact school you want – and much more. We provide multiple layers of support at every step of the way. In our 20 years of experience, we have built a network that offers incredible diversity, bringing students from more than 50 countries to our partner schools in ten countries. This enriches those schools, host families and our international students at the same time.

An experienced Educatius counsellor will help you decide where you want to go and which program is best for you. This personal advisor will support you and your parents throughout the application and admission process, including your study visa documentation. Our team will match you with a welcoming and carefully screened host family, or place you on campus at an excellent boarding school. You will also receive a pre-departure orientation, and we will be there to meet you at the airport when you arrive. Once you reach your destination, we will assign a local coordinator who will support you throughout your program, and resolve any questions or concerns you may have.
