It is impossible to believe March is coming to an end. With that being said, just a small reminder that Graduation is less than two months away and not to mention Prom is next month!!! Time truly flies when you are having a good time and when you are far away from home.
Located in between the beaches of Miami and the Everglade National Park, Miami Dade County Public Schools have an excellent location with academics to match. Students have the opportunity to take the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Program as well as four foreign languages, more than 15 AP Courses, STEM Courses, and specialty courses such as Bio-Medical or Fashion Design. FACILITIES Schools in the Miami Dade County Public Schools system have modern facilities that support programs in areas like Design, Architecture, Performing Arts and more. Miami Dade also owns and operates a PBS Television Station, WLRN-TV (Channel 17) as well as their own radio station. SPORTS AND ARTS Students can compete in a variety of sports in the Fall, Winter, and Spring sports seasons such as Football, Basketball, and Tennis. ‘Iolani School is a culturally diverse, co-educational college preparatory school. With more than 150 years of history, it is recognized as one of the top college preparatory schools in the United States. Through dynamic and personalized instruction in a multitude of disciplines, ‘Iolani develops liberally educated, well-rounded individuals. FACILITIES There are a number of great facilities on the 25-acre campus at ‘Iolani School. The Sullivan Center for Innovation and Leadership is a 40,000 square foot building that is home to research science, design, and applied technologies. Outside of the academic buildings, students can use a number of athletic facilities, including fields, a pool, and a six lane outdoor track. With over 168,000 students, Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2nd largest in the country. Four of their public high schools accept international students. The district’s outstanding academics have earned it a California Gold Ribbon Award. Schools in the district offer a combined 14 foreign languages and over 40 AP courses as well as honors options. FACILITIES Los Angeles Unified School District’s recent improvements to their campus facilities include new or upgraded sports complexes, outdoor communal areas and quads, and state-of-the-art learning and performing arts centers. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s championships teams compete in a variety of sports including golf, soccer, American football, and water polo. The All District High School Honor Band is world renowned, drawing the finest musicians from its individual high school band programs.
