With over 168,000 students, Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2nd largest in the country. Four of their public high schools accept international students. The district’s outstanding academics have earned it a California Gold Ribbon Award. Schools in the district offer a combined 14 foreign languages and over 40 AP courses as well as honors options. FACILITIES Los Angeles Unified School District’s recent improvements to their campus facilities include new or upgraded sports complexes, outdoor communal areas and quads, and state-of-the-art learning and performing arts centers. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s championships teams compete in a variety of sports including golf, soccer, American football, and water polo. The All District High School Honor Band is world renowned, drawing the finest musicians from its individual high school band programs. The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is located southeast of Los Angeles. The district maintains its reputation for academic excellence by offer challenging academic programs that focus on college preparation. FACILITIES Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified has modernized over 20 of the schools in their district including 3 of the high schools. To help better serve students, they built a 4th high school which was completed in 2009. The schools now have state-of-art facilities including science labs, classroom technology, and fine arts facilities.
