School Description

Founded in 1801, Woodstock Academy is a historic, traditional New England school with a challenging and diverse educational program. The school’s campus is located a short drive from Boston and dozens of world class colleges and universities. Woodstock Academy offers more than a dozen AP and early college credit courses.

Woodstock’s traditional New England campus consists of six main buildings that include counseling centers, computer labs, an activities center, a memorial hall, a library with a media center, a multi-purpose stadium, sports fields, and a track. The recent addition of South Campus introduced an engineering lab and Makerspace workshop to the school.

Woodstock Academy offers several competitive athletics, featuring a year-round postgraduate basketball program.
Woodstock offers various unique art and media courses such as radio station, wood technology, and culinary arts.

Woodstock’s three on-campus dormitories house two students per room and feature lounges, study spaces, laundry facilities, and dorm parent apartments.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS St. Johnsbury has received the Blue Ribbon School award, had two National Merit Finalists and 59 Scholastic Art Awards in 2019, and placed first in the 2019 Catamount Arts 48 Hour Film Slam. The 30th president of the United States, Calvin Coolidge, graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE Faculty members reside in each dorm, and each student is assigned a dorm parent who acts as the student’s mentor and communicates regularly with the student’s family.
