It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!

What is the most important factor for international students when selecting a US high school to apply to?
Food is important when studying abroad. Today, I will give you an introduction to American foods you need to try while abroad.
Chino Valley Unified School District’s has four high schools that accept international students. The distinguished district has some of the best schools in California and offers unique academic programs such as STEM, engineering, veterinary studies, and agriculture. The district boasts test scores and graduation rates that exceed state and national averages as well as over 35 AP options. International students make up 2% of the student body. FACILITIES The district’s high school campuses have large-scale athletic facilities, including fields for football, baseball, and soccer; synthetic running tracks; gymnasiums; and aquatic centers. Campuses have an extensive network of computer labs. One high school offers agriculture students access to a working farm. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s strong athletic reputation is upheld by their many graduates who have gone on to become professional basketball, football, soccer, and American football players. Althoff Catholic High School has an exclusive educational program supported by award winning teachers. They also have a partnership with St. Louis University where they have college level courses available for high school students looking to earn college credit. FACILITIES Althoff Catholic High School has a modern Outdoor Athletic Complex for student sport needs along with specialized labs for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. SPORTS AND ARTS Students have the chance to participate in a variety of sports during each season. With high-quality academics and many extra-curricular opportunities, Gibault Catholic High School students can excel inside and outside of the classroom. Gibault’s small class sizes and low teacher-student ratio provides students with individualized support allowing for strong academic growth. While attending Gibault, upperclassmen can earn up to 45 hours of college credit through a partnership with Saint Louis University. FACILITIES Located on a 40-acre campus in southern Illinois, campus facilities include a gymnasium, weight room, renovated science labs, a chapel, and outdoor study spaces. The brand-new STEM and Innovation Center features a high-tech classroom, lab spaces for robotics and 3D printing, collaborative study areas, a digital sharing bay for group work, and a production studio with a green screen and AV mixing board.
