Established in 1906, Archbishop Riordan High School is one of the oldest all-male boarding schools in Northern California. In addition to strong academics, Archbishop offers coed activities by partnering with local all-girls schools for social and extracurricular activities such as spirit rallies, dances, and drama productions.
The campus features courtyards and a state-of-the-art sports arena that includes a gymnasium, weight room, locker room, wrestling room and baseball field. The school also has a modern multimedia center with Apple computers.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Teams including football, basketball, and track and field regularly win championships. The wrestling team has won six individual championships in its division. Archbishop Riordan High School’s award-winning theater company along with its renowned music and band activities make for a strong arts program. Their marching band, the only high school marching band in San Francisco, performed at the 2016 Super Bowl.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Archbishop Riordan High School’s boarding program matches two international students from different countries to a room in its on-campus dormitories. Boarding students can participate in weekend activities such as hiking, camping, professional sports games, and trips to destinations such as museums or amusement parks.
