HIGHLIGHT INFO

Situated near the city of Portsmouth on the beautiful south coast of England, Havant College is a Sixth Form centre of excellence offering a wide range of over 40 A Level qualifications. A Level students have a 99% pass rate, with 50% achieving grades A-C. With such strong results and extra-curricular activities, it’s no wonder that many Havant College students progress to study at leading Russell Group universities. Equally, with the range of transferable skills gained at college, students also have the option to go straight into employment. Staff are committed to providing students with the highest level of teaching and learning possible and whatever their nationality, background or aspirations, all students are supported to ensure they reach their fullest potential.

Facilities
Students can benefit from the wide range of modern facilities across the Havant campus. Dance studios, science labs, recording studios, a fully equipped gym and 4G Astro-pitch, art studios, study centres, libraries, a sensory room – the list is endless. Between lessons, there are plenty of social spaces for students to grab lunch or a coffee with friends, relax in the student lounge, or even enjoy the outdoor seating area in the warmer months. Beyond the fantastic campus sites, the local area offers lots to see and do and has excellent transport connections into the modern island city of Portsmouth.

Sports & Arts
There’s a lot more to Havant College than just gaining qualifications. The Be Extraordinary and Be Active programmes are designed to give students lots of new opportunities and experiences. For students who enjoy keeping fit, the college offers a range of sports teams for them to join. Whether they want to get to know new people or are looking at competing at the highest level, there are lots of sporting activities to get involved in. Havant College run run a great range of trips and activities throughout the school year and offer clubs and societies to appeal to all and support students in developing their skills outside of the classroom.

Student Life
Havant College encourages students to become independent adults by taking ownership of their studies and managing their spare time effectively, and this is encouraged by the college’s progressive approach to timetabling. Classes do not start until 10am because academic research shows that teenagers learn better later in the day. Students have 5 hours of teaching time per subject, per week, which is more than any other college in the local area. Staff always devise timetables with student feedback and needs in mind, so study time is scheduled into the day. This gives students who are well-organised the chance to keep evenings free for extra-curricular activities and socialising.
