Chino Valley Unified School District’s has four high schools that accept international students. The distinguished district has some of the best schools in California and offers unique academic programs such as STEM and engineering, veterinary studies, and agriculture. The district boasts test scores and graduation rates that exceed state and national averages as well as over 35 AP options. International students make up 2% of the student body.
The district’s high school campuses have large-scale athletic facilities, including fields for football, baseball, and soccer; synthetic running tracks; gymnasiums; and aquatic centers. Campuses have an extensive network of computer labs. One high school offers agriculture students access to a working farm.
SPORTS AND ARTS
The district’s strong athletic reputation is upheld by their many graduates who have gone on to become professional basketball, football, soccer, and American football players. Students can also participate in sports such as golf and water polo.
Schools in the district offer fine and performing arts such as drama, jazz band, and wind ensemble, as well as digital and media arts such as digital imaging, graphic design, video production, and fashion design.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The district is home to 19 California Distinguished Schools and a National Blue Ribbon School. Schools in the district have also received the California Distinguished School and California Gold Ribbon School awards.
The city of Chino, located 45 minutes east of Los Angeles, is home to Chino Community Theater and a lively downtown area with a weekly farmer’s market. With a sunny year round climate, Chino was selected as one of the 100 Best Communities for Youth and was ranked 34th in Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live 2012.

El Camino Real Charter High School
SCHOOL PROFILE El Camino Real Charter High School offers over 20 AP courses along with dual enrollment and honors options. It also offers a variety of academic opportunities such as the Careers in Entertainment Academy, the Fashion and Design Academy, the Junior Engineering Technical Society (STEM), and the award-winning Academic Decathlon team. Notable alumni of the school include actresses Tiffany Haddish and America Ferrera. FACILITIES El Camino Real Charter High School’s modern facilities include a performing arts theater, a library, computer labs, a gymnasium, tennis courts, and new sports fields. SPORTS AND ARTS The school has one of the most outstanding athletic programs in the area with almost all of the fall sports teams making the playoffs in 2015. Teams have won recent championships in cross country, boys and girls soccer, and boys tennis. El Camino Real Charter High School is also know for its award-winning Visual and Performing Arts program as well as its Fashion and Design Academy. Students can also take interesting and unique fine and visual arts courses such as calligraphy and cartooning. Orono High School
SCHOOL PROFILE Orono High School is an elite public school located in Central Maine. The school offers all graduates the unique opportunity of automatic conditional acceptance to the neighboring University of Maine. Named a 2017-2019 top 10 school in Maine, Orono High School offers college preparatory, AP, and intensive ESL courses. Students are also able to take dual enrollment courses with the University of Maine. FACILITIES Orono High School is located next to the University of Maine and shares its facilities. The campus features new state-of-the-art media and fitness centers, a planetarium, collegiate athletic fields, science labs, the largest library in the state, and a 3D printing lab. Students can take dual enrollment courses at the university. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and Smartboards. Orono High School also has a fully certified ropes course located on 30 acres of land with an outdoor education curriculum. SPORTS AND ARTS Over the past few years, Orono athletes have won state championships in many sports, including Baseball, Nordic Skiing, Cross Country, Soccer, and Ice Hockey. Orono High School features a specific period during the day in which all students participate in art, music, and/or drama classes. Students can choose from unique courses such as ukulele and songwriting. In 2017-2019, Orono High School Show Choir won the State Championship. AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS Orono High School is listed in US News and World Report’s top 5% of high schools, and the US Niche report named the school as one of the top 10 in Maine and awarded the school an “A” rating.
